'ZIP' Throughout the classic jewelry design, it must have experienced “tempering” or began NECKLACE/ with an interesting story. The insignificant clothing accessories designed by Van Cleef BRACELET, & Arpels in the 1930s have changed people’s concept of traditional jewelry design, that BY VAN CLEEF & is, the “zip” necklace known and sought after by people. Zipper (zip) first appeared ARPELS on the pilot’s coat and sailor’s uniform. In 1938, Mrs. Windsor boldly proposed to the art director of Van Cleef & Arpels to design a necklace with the shape of zipper to bring the elements of high-grade clothing to high-grade jewelry. In 1951, zip Necklace boldly broke through the design concept: the wearer pulled the zipper and opened it into a necklace; Gently pull the tassel to form a bracelet. For Van Cleef & Arpels, this convertible design is a great innovation. It combines the exquisite craftsmanship of Van Cleef & Arpels with jewelry design and endows it with practical features.
