approaches, I’m pleased to present the 39th edition of NEW

HORIZON. In this edition, you will find Mr. Thomas Hasler, the

Mainland China—Sika Guangzhou Ltd., and tracing the development footprint of Sika in China. From establishing its first

factory in Guangzhou in 1993 to its current nationwide business network, every step of Sika’s progress has been closely

2024 年 7 月，西卡集团首席执行官贺

思乐先生（Mr. Thomas Hasler）和西卡亚太

区总裁姚思博先生（Mr. Philippe.Jost）访问

中国，这是贺思乐先生今年第二次到访西

卡中国区，西卡中国总裁张烨炯先生率西

卡中国管理层成员一同接待，并陪同参观。

中国作为全球最大的化工产品市场之

一，对西卡集团的全球发展具有举足轻重

的作用。西卡集团通过深耕中国市场，不

仅扩大其在全球的影响力，还通过提供高

质量的产品和服务，为中国的高质量发展

作出贡献。此外，中国市场的快速增长和

专业化程度的加深，为西卡集团带来了巨

大的成长机遇。2023 年西卡在华营收突破

100 亿元，中国市场已成为西卡集团全球第

二大市场。

广州不仅是中国改革开放的前沿，也

是西卡在华发展的源头。1993 年，西卡在

广州设立了中国大陆的的第一家工厂，从

此伴随着中国的城市化发展，西卡陆续在

大连、上海、苏州、重庆、成都、镇江等

城市创办工厂或设立办事处，业务版图不

断扩张。

贺思乐先生访问期间特别考察了广州

工厂的运营和研发，他指出可持续发展和

技术创新是西卡发展的核心支柱，期望中

国团队能够进一步拓展市场，加强与政府、

合作伙伴和客户的共赢合作，探索新的业

务机会。

In July 2024, Mr. Thomas Hasler, CEO of

Sika Group, and Mr. Philippe Jost, Asia-Pacific Regional President of Sika, visited

China. This was the second time Mr.

Thomas Hasler visited Sika China this year.

Mr. Leo Zhang, President of Sika China, led

Sika China’s executives in welcoming and

accompanying him on the trip.

As one of the world’s largest chemicals

markets, China plays a pivotal role in

the global development of Sika Group.

By deeply engaging in the Chinese market, Sika not only expands its global

presence but also contributes to China’s

high-quality development by providing

superior products and services. In addition, the rapid growth and increasing

specialization of the Chinese market

present significant opportunities for the

Sika Group. In 2023, Sika’s revenue in

China exceeded 10 billion RMB, making

the Chinese market Sika Group’s second-largest market globally.

Guangzhou, a key city in China’s reform

and opening-up, is also the origin of Sika’s development in China. In 1993, Sika

established its first factory on the Chinese mainland in Guangzhou. Since then,

as China’s urbanization progressed, Sika

has been expanding its business landscape by setting up factories or offices

in Dalian, Shanghai, Suzhou, Chongqing,

Chengdu, Zhenjiang, and other cities.

During his visit, Mr. Thomas Hasler inspected the operations and R&D of Sika,

especially its factory in Guangzhou.

He emphasized that sustainability and

technological innovation are Sika’s key

strategic pillars and encouraged Sika

China’s team to further expand the market, strengthen win-win cooperation

with the government, partners, and

customers, and explore new business

opportunities.

EBITDA 显著增长

MARKED INCREASE IN EBITDA

西卡今年上半年的材料利润率达到

55.1%（上年同期为：52.7%）。这一改善，

加上效率的提升和收购 MBCC 带来的协同

效应，使得 EBITDA 比率显著提升至 18.7%

（上年同期为：16.5%），尽管在某些领

域存在因通货膨胀导致成本上升的情况。

今年上半年，息税折旧摊销前营业利润

（EBITDA）达到了 10.929 亿瑞士法郎，创

历史新高。

Sika posted a material margin of 55.1% in the first half of the year

(previous year: 52.7%). This improvement, together with efficiency increases and synergies from the MBCC acquisition, has led to a marked

increase in the EBITDA margin of 18.7% (previous year: 16.5%), despite

inflationary cost dynamics in some areas. Operating profit before depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached a new record high of CHF

1,092.9 million in the first half of the year.

With a clear focus on cash generation, Sika achieved an all-time high

for its operating free cash flow of CHF 401.3 million (previous year: CHF

322.5 million).

Sika successfully expanded its business

activities in the first half of 2024, and

achieved record results despite challenging

market conditions. Strong growth rates

and the targeted expansion of market

share resulted in new record sales of CHF

5,834.8 million (previous year: CHF 5,345.5

million). This corresponds to an increase

of 12.8% in local currencies. Sales growth

in Swiss francs reached 9.2%, including a

negative currency effect of -3.6%, which

subsided in the second quarter. At profitability level, Sika substantially expanded

its EBITDA margin to 18.7% (previous

year: 16.5%). The integration of the MBCC

acquisition is progressing very well and is

contributing significantly to the strong

half-year results.

Thomas Hasler, CEO: “With our good

operating result in the first half of 2024,

we have shown that we are in an excellent position to gain market share even

in challenging markets. Furthermore, our

near-and long-term emissions reduction

targets, aiming for net-zero emissions by

2050, have been validated by the Science

Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This important achievement underscores Sika’s

commitment to sustainability and its

proactive role in decarbonizing the construction and automotive industries. We

have also reached an important milestone

of our Strategy 2028. In a global employee

survey, which was conducted in the first

half of the year, we achieved an engagement rate of 86%, significantly exceeding

our target of 80%. Sika has a strong corporate culture, and we can count on our

employees’ deep sense of identification

with the company. Thanks to all employees, we once again achieved strong results

in the first half of 2024.”

Sika has significantly expanded its research and development capacities in the

Asia/Pacific region and opened a new, state-of-the-art Technology Center in

Suzhou, China. After the center in Zurich, the new Technology Center Suzhou,

near Shanghai, is Sika's second-largest

technology center. The primary focus of this

center is the development of sustainable and

high-performance technologies with which

Sika makes a significant contribution to

the transformation of the construction and

automotive industries. The new center of

excellence will play a key role in tapping market

作为湖南省优势产业，其工程机械行业一直处于全国领先地位，早在 2010 年，

长沙工程机械产业集群便已成为了全省首个千亿产业，工程机械“湘军”从

国内走向世界，成为中国制造的重要组成部分。中联重科便是其中的代表企业。

如今，面对全新的市场环境和行业发展趋势，中联重科为了实现产业转型和

智能化提升，牵手湘江新区，共同打造总投资千亿元的中联智慧产业城。

As a dominant industry in Hunan Province, the construction machinery industry

has long been one of China's most advanced. As early as 2010, Changsha had built

its construction machinery industry into a 100-billion-yuan cluster, the first in the

province. Hunan's construction machinery sector, sometimes called the \"Hunan

Army\", has today gone global, forming an important part of China's manufacturing

industry. Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter

referred to as Zoomlion) is one of China's representative construction machinery

manufacturers. In the face of the modern day market environment and current

industry trends, Zoomlion, together with the Xiangjiang New Area, has invested 100

billion yuan to build the Zoomlion Smart Industry City, which aims to realize industrial

transformation and continually upgrade towards more intelligent production.

长沙中联智慧产业城位于湘江新区，

是中联重科实现产业转型、智能化提升、打

造世界一流装备制造产业新高地的标志性工

程。项目总建筑面积超 300 万㎡，项目总投

资近 1,000 亿。智慧产业城建成后，预计年

总产值超 1,000 亿元，带动上下游产业链年

收入达 500 亿元以上，将为长沙打造一张高

端装备智能制造的国际名片。

在长沙中联智慧产业城的建设过程中，

西卡的白色清水混凝土为建筑性能和美学提

供了巨大的保障和助力，作为装饰外墙使用，

白色清水混凝土的性能不仅满足了该项目对

于施工要求的工作性、稳定性、匀质性、抗

裂性的苛刻要求，而且完美体现了设计师对

该项目的设计理念。

在项目的实施中，西卡也面临了多项挑

战，其中包括，斜面气泡残留问题、易泌水

问题和浮浆问题。每一项挑战都可能影响到

最终建筑的美观和质量，

西卡采取了创新的技术和方法来应对遇

The Zoomlion Smart Industry City, located

in the Xiangjiang New Area, Changsha,

is a landmark project for Zoomlion as it

aims to realize industrial transformation

and upgrade towards intelligent production, building itself into a new world-class

equipment manufacturing base. The total

area of the project is over 3 million square

meters, and the total investment is about

100 billion yuan (US$13.7 billion). Once the

project is completed, total annual output

value is expected to exceed this value,

with the annual income of the upstream

and downstream industrial chain projected to reach more than 50 billion yuan

(US$6.8 billion), helping Changsha become

an international hub for the intelligent

manufacturing of high-end construction

equipment.

During the construction of the Zoomlion Smart Industry City, Sika’s white

fair-faced concrete boosts building performance and guarantees aesthetics.

For exterior wall finish, the properties

of white fair-faced concrete not only

satisfy challenging requirements for

workability, stability, homogeneity and

crack resistance for this project, but also

perfectly embody the project’s design

philosophy.

Sika also faced challenges during implementation, including air bubble entrapment on inclined planes, easy bleeding,

and laitance, all of which have the potential to affect final building aesthetics

and quality.

Sika adopts innovative technologies

and approaches to overcome these challenges. To address the problems of easy

bleeding, high porosity and poor water

retention of concrete, Sika optimizes the

filling effect between different components of concrete, and reduces porosity

by selecting different grades of sand,

scientifically calculating the particle

proportions and sizes. Sika ViscoCrete®

3,301M water reducers also help significantly reduce the concrete’s bleeding

rate and viscosity, ensuring overall homogeneity and aesthetics. When faced

with the problem of laitance, Sika Stabilizer® 4R stabilizer helps effectively control the issue. The stabilizer improves

Logistics Park covers an area of 10 hectares, with a total floor area of about

160,000 m2

about 1.5 billion yuan. The project integrates a logistics center, central kitchen,

integrated office, product research and

development, talent development, employee recreation, and the processing

and distribution of products at the end of

the retail industry. Its aim is to become

a world-class, high-quality intelligent industrial park. Currently, the logistics center and the central kitchen have been put

into operation. In such an intelligent industrial park project that can be called a

local benchmark, Sika’s flooring systems

have played a crucial role in ensuring the

For the multi-purpose integrated distribution processing park, Sika has provided tailored application solutions to

meet the special flooring requirements

and environments in different regions.

In the free shuttle area of the workshop,

Sika’s seamless flooring technology, in

conjunction with the contractor, offers a

smoother surface, effectively reducing

board warpage. The use of polyurethane mortar flooring systems in food

processing workshops, which feature

rapid curing and a short construction

period, meets food processing workshop

requirements, including a high level of

cleanliness, high and low temperature

resistance, corrosion resistance, and pollution-free environments.

As the contractor for the flooring project

at Pangdonglai’s integrated distribution

processing park, Zhanyi (Suzhou) Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter

If you ask the post-70s or the post-80s

about the top national dessert brands in

their hearts, the name “Holiland” is sure

to be among the first names mentioned.

As a time-honored dessert brand, Holiland has created a miracle in the domestic bakery chain industry, as evidenced

by its annual cake sales of over 2 billion

yuan. Additionally, Holiland operates

nearly 1,000 regular chain stores in over

80 large and medium-sized cities across

China, which can sell 30 tons of birthday

cakes and bread every day and 200,000

tons of mooncakes every year.

However, beyond its innovative marketing strategies, Holiland’s success is

also anchored in its five modern food industrial parks in China, which provide an

indispensable guarantee for production,

the food industrial parks in Tianjin and

Kunshan.

Holiland Tianjin Food Industrial Park

is located in Tianjin Wuqing Economic

Development Zone, while Holiland Kunshan Food Industrial Park is located in

Dianshanhu Town, Kunshan City, Jiangsu

Province. Sika participated in the flooring of the two food industrial parks,

covering a total area of over 36,000 m2

To address the owner’s area-specific environmental requirements, Sika provided

flooring combinations and customized

solutions, as well as ex-ante, interim,

and ex-post adequate technical exchanges, which earned recognition and

trust from the owner.

During the construction of these two

large-scale modern food industrial

parks, Sika designed and recommended

the Sikafloor® PurCem water-based

polyurethane mortar flooring system

for areas such as food processing workshops, which met the requirements of

HACCP certification and China’s production environment certification required

to export food products, as well as the

certification requirements of the U.S.

FDA/USDA and European countries for

food imports.

Throughout the project, Sika’s flooring

and coating team developed a scientific,

rigorous, and perfect whole-process

management scheme, which addressed

the owner’s high-quality standards in

high-performance flooring selection,

construction standardization, substrate

As living standards rise and car ownership increases, the demand for garages

and parking spaces also grows. The

quality of a garage floor, being the first

stop for consumers to enter houses,

commercial centers, and public spaces,

significantly influences their first impression and safety. After years of rapid

development and heavy use, the original

garage floor of many buildings can no

longer meet public safety and aesthetic

requirements, showing signs of cracking,

breaks, and loss of slip resistance, resulting in the growing demand for retrofits.

When it comes to the air gateway and

one of the busiest international airports

in China, Beijing Capital International

Airport naturally stands out. It serves not

only as a transportation hub but also as

the first shining “business card” of Beijing

Capital for overseas travelers. Opened in

March 1958, with a 10,000-square-meter

terminal and one runway, it became the

first large-scale civil transport airport

since 1949. By 2008, Beijing Capital International Airport has become the first

super-large international airport in Asia

to operate with three terminals, three

runways, and two towers.

Over decades of ups and downs, time

has left “traces” across Beijing Capital

International Airport, which is in urgent

need of retrofit and renovation. Since

the completion of the T2 and T3 terminals, they have handled most of the domestic and international flights, drawing

massive traffic to the parking garages.

In addition, due to the long service life,

the floors have suffered from damage

and cracking, affecting both functionality and appearance. Therefore, garage

and floor renovation became inevitable.

This renovation project covered a total

area of 65,000 m2

, with the owner setting

stringent requirements. Specifically, the

owner set extremely high requirements

on quality, including aesthetic appeal as

well as better wear resistance and slip

resistance of floor surfaces to effectively

reduce tire noise. After a comprehensive

selection and comparison of numerous

solutions, the owner favored and approved Sikafloor® Workshop + Sikafloor®

-315, i.e. a solvent-free epoxy self-leveling

and highly abrasion-resistant polyurethane coating system recommended by

Sika. In addition, Sikadur®-42+ also played

an important role in the installation of an

automated people mover (APM) system

in T3, which was also the first APM line in

the Chinese mainland.

The construction for this project was

handled by Beijing Nanbao Weiye Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter

referred to as Nanbao Weiye), a company

that has been cooperating with Sika for

nearly 15 years. Well-informed of the

properties of Sika’s materials, the company carried out rigorous inspections

over construction, field management,

and quality control. Due to the tight

schedule, Nanbao Weiye coordinated and

channeled sufficient equipment and personnel to ensure the timely completion

and successful delivery of the project.

Beijing Capital International Airport

随着人们生活水平的提高和车辆保有

量的提升，对车库停车空间的要求也随之

提高，作为消费者进入住宅、商业中心、

公共空间的第一站，车库地坪的好坏很大

程度影响了消费者的第一印象和安全。经

过多年高速的发展和常年的高负荷使用，

许多建筑的原有车库地面已经无法满足大

众的安全及美观等要求，逐渐开裂、破损、

防滑失效，翻新改造的需求日益增长。

要问中国的空中门户和最繁忙的国际

空港之一是哪个？北京首都国际机场自然

当仁不让，它不仅承担了运输任务，更是

首都北京面向海外旅客的第一张闪亮“名

片”。 1958 年 3 月，一座有着 10,000 平方

米航站楼和一条跑道的现代机场赫然呈现

在世人面前，首都机场成为新中国成立以

来兴建的第一座大型民用运输机场。2008

年首都机场成为亚洲地区第一家拥有三座

航站楼、三条跑道、双塔台同时运营的超

大型国际机场。

历经了几十年的风风雨雨，岁月在首

都国际机场的各个角落都留下了“痕迹”，

急需改造和翻新，T2 和 T3 航站楼自建成开

始，便承担了大部分的国内航班和国际航

班任务，使得航站楼停车库吸引了庞大的

车流量，加之使用年限较长，局部地面已

出现了破损和开裂的现象，影响了使用和

美观。所以，对于停车库的翻新和地面改

造成为了不可避免的需求。

此次翻新工程总面积达到了 65,000

㎡，业主方也提出了众多严格要求，不仅

需要保证美观的同时，还需要地面有更强

的耐磨性和防滑性，并且，能够有效降低

轮胎噪音，质量要求极高。经过层层筛选

和众多方案对比，最终，西卡推荐的无溶

剂环氧自流平 + 高耐磨聚氨酯罩面体系

Sikafloor® Workshop + Sikafloor®-315 获得

了业主的青睐和认可。除此之外，西卡的

Sikadur®-42+ 还在 T3 航站楼内的自动旅客

捷运系统（APM）安装过程中，发挥了重

深度洞察新趋势，西卡助力新能源汽车发展

Audi FAW NEV production base

进入 21 世纪发展电动汽车己经成为世

界众多国家、主要汽车制造商应对能源和

环境挑战的战略重点，作为国际知名车企，

奥迪为了适应和满足中国日益增长的新能

源汽车需求和发展趋势，与中国一汽合资

成立了奥迪一汽新能源汽车有限公司（以

下简称：奥迪一汽新能源），并为此投资

近 26 亿欧元，其中包括建设首个在华纯电

动车生产基地，正式开启了奥迪在中国市

场本土化生产的纯电动车型项目。

奥迪一汽新能源全新的生产基地位于

吉林长春市，占地 154 万㎡，于 2021 年开

工建设，计划于 2024 年底投产。今年 1 月，

首台奥迪 Q6 e-tron 预批量车已经在基地总

装车间下线，正式进入预批量生产阶段。

全新的生产基地位是奥迪在中国第一家仅

生产纯电动车型的工厂，规划年产量将超

过 15 万辆。不仅如此，奥迪一汽新能源的

生产基地也是奥迪首个在华投产即实现“碳

中和”的生产基地，达到中国绿建三星标准。

在新生产基地中，西卡在地面与屋面

屋面使用总面积均达到了 35 万㎡。该项目

In the 21st century, the development

of electric vehicles (EVs) has become a

strategic focus for many countries and

major carmakers as they confront energy

and environmental challenges. Audi AG,

as an internationally renowned carmaker,

has established Audi FAW NEV Co., Ltd.

(hereinafter referred to as “Audi FAW

NEV”), a joint venture with FAW Group,

as a response to the growing demand for

and development trend of new energy

vehicles (NEVs) in China. For this purpose, Audi has committed nearly 2.6 billion euros, including the construction of

its production base for purely electric vehicles in China. This initiative marks the

official start of the production of Audi’s

localized all-electric models for China.

The new Audi FAW NEV production base,

located in Changchun, Jilin Province, covers an area of 1.54 million m2

. Construction started in 2021 and is scheduled to

operate at the end of 2024. In January of

this year, the first pre-mass production

unit of the Audi Q6 e-tron rolled off the

assembly line at the base, signifying the

commencement of pre-mass production.

As Audi’s first factory to produce exclusively all-electric vehicles in China, the

new production base is projected to have

an annual production capacity of over

150,000 vehicles. Moreover, it is Audi’s

first production base in China to achieve

“carbon neutrality” upon production

commencement, earning a Three-Star

Green Building Label in China.

During the construction of the new production base, Sika provided essential

support for the flooring and roofing,

with a total area of 350,000 m2

for

Sika’s flooring solution and single-ply

flexible TPO/PVC waterproofing roofing system. The project has garnered

attention for its remarkable highlights.

First of all, its large area and high level

of flatness offer ample space and an excellent user experience. Secondly, with

advanced construction technologies, the

flooring lifespan is significantly extended, while the maintenance cost is greatly

reduced, thus lowering overall costs. In

addition, seamless flooring design and

crack-free performance not only enhance

aesthetics but also improve durability.

Heavy-duty S-shaped armored joints

were used in the flooring construction

to ensure stability and durability. Visually, the flooring is beautiful, bright, and

identically colored, providing a pleasing

appearance. Additionally, the flooring

design takes into account the stringent

requirements of AGV’s fixed-point moving trajectory, ensuring its application

effect in industrial automation.

The flooring contractor for the production base, Jilin Province Deshi Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., specializes in

industrial flooring and has been cooperating with Sika for 24 years and awarded

the “Long-term Cooperation Award,”

“Top Ten Contractors,” and “Best Project” by Sika several times. The company, together with Sika, won the Golden

Trowel Asia Award, becoming the first

Langfang Gu’an Intelligent Industrial

Park located in Gu’an County, Langfang,

Given the extensive use of high-storage racks in the warehousing facilities,

Jingdong Langfang Gu’an Intelligent

Industrial Park requires higher floor flatness and stability. To meet the owner’s

request for high-precision flooring, Sika

designed and recommended Sikafloor®

JD-3 Quartztop hard-wearing aggregates

and Sikafloor®-931 Finishing Aid densifiers designed to improve concrete floor

finishing works, quality, appearance, and

functionality.

Throughout the construction process,

Sika’s flooring and coating team collaborated closely with the contractor to draw

several designs with Sika’s product mix

as required by the owner, and the flooring system was qualified upon the flatness testing of Face Consultants. As a

result of repeated technical communication, Sika gained trust and support from

the owner, and reached new heights in

wear-resistant flooring quality, as evidenced by field test data of 3mm/3m

(FF55/FL42.5).

As a professional construction contractor of this project, Shanghai Qiangli Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd.

boasts years of advanced management

experience in Sika flooring. The company

strictly adhered to quality inspection and

quantitative management procedures,

earning high recognition from the owner

and setting a benchmark model for the

construction contractor for warehouses

使用耐水性能较好的单组份高强度石膏基

非膨胀 Sikacrete® -215 CN 作为主体结构用

产品。

Sikacrete®-215 CN 是室内非膨胀型钢结

构防火涂料，用于建筑室内钢结构承重柱、

梁、以及防火墙表面。该产品涂层遇火时，

分解产生惰性气体并依靠涂层自身的不燃

性和低导热性的特点来阻止火势对钢结构

的直接侵袭，以及防止钢结构受热过快，

As China’s economy continues to grow,

steel structure has become a crucial

building material because of its high

strength, light weight, good seismic

performance, mass production facilitation, and recyclability. However, steel

structures present challenges in fire

protection. Specifically, its mechanical

properties, such as yield point, tensile

strength, and modulus of elasticity,

decrease sharply with increasing temperature. Therefore, high-quality fire-retardant coatings for steel structures

have become indispensable auxiliary

products.

Sika, a leading brand in fire-retardant

coatings, offers a comprehensive range

of fire-retardant coatings for steel

structures, covering cement-based

n on - in t um e s cen t , g y psum - b as e d

non-intumescent, solvent-based intumescent, water-based intumescent, and

epoxy-based intumescent coatings.

In 2019, to cater to diverse office needs,

enhance team efficiency, and stimulate creativity and inspiration among

employees, UBTECH Robotics Corp Ltd.

(hereinafter referred to as UBTECH)

embarked on the construction of its

new UBTECH Headquarters located in

Nanshan District, Shenzhen. The building stands 212m high, with a total floor

area of over 71,000 m2

, and features a

47-storey all-steel tower as the main

body. The building adopts a framecore tube structure with a transfer

truss and a mega-frame bottom layer.

The frame columns and mega diagonal

braces around the tower shift through

a latticed mega frame, leaving only the

mega latticed columns on four corners

touching the ground.

Considering the construction environment, project timeline, and the unique

all-steel mega-frame transfer design,

Sikacrete® -215 CN, a water-resistant

single-component high-strength gypsum-based non-intumescent coating,

was selected for the construction of the

main structure.

Sikacrete®-215 CN is a non-intumescent

fire-retardant coating for steel structures in interior situations, which is specifically designed for load-bearing steel

columns, beams, and firewalls in buildings. When exposed to fire, the coating

decomposes to produce inert gases, and,

relying on its non-inflammability and

low thermal conductivity, protects steel

structures from fires and prevents steel

structures from rapid heating, thus

greatly increasing the fire resistance

time of steel structures.

The project was executed by Shenzhen

Zhongxin Construction Engineering Co.,

Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shenzhen Zhongxin”). Shenzhen Zhongxin

has cooperated with Sika for nearly a

decade and has extensive knowledge of

the properties of Sika’s materials. Moreover, Shenzhen Zhongxin is well-versed

in the climate environment and safety

management requirements of the area

where the UBTECH Headquarters building is located.

Through early-stage interfacing and a

clear understanding of project quality

and management requirements, Shenzhen Zhongxin implemented the standard construction procedures strictly

during the actual construction process

and completed quality and safety & security civilization management, earning

commendations from the owner’s onsite management team.

OF THE WORLD

世界屋脊上的风电场

在巍峨壮丽的喜马拉雅山脉北麓和

波澜壮阔的雅鲁藏布江南岸，一台

台风机拔地而起，直冲云霄，与远

方的珠穆朗玛峰交相辉映，西藏萨

迦风电场项目的建设正在如火如荼

地进行之中。

At the northern foot of the majestic

Himalayas and the southern bank

of the Yarlung Zangbo River, wind

turbines stretch tall into the sky,

with Mount Qomolangma looming in

the distance. The construction of the

Sagya Wind Farm Project in China's

Tibet Autonomous Region is in full

swing.

萨迦风电场地处西藏自治区日喀则市

萨迦县的高原山地，距离世界之巅珠穆朗

玛峰仅仅 140 多公里，最高海拔达到 5,193

米，是目前世界上在建海拔最高的风电场。

依托于超高海拔地区的优质风资源，

正常运行下，叶片每转动一周，每台风机

就可以生产约3度电，即每小时生产约5,000

度电量。项目建成后，萨迦风电场将为当

地提供绿色清洁的电力。年发电量接近 6

亿千瓦时，相当于燃烧 16.42 万吨标准煤的

发电量。相比之下，分别能够减排二氧化

硫和二氧化碳约 45 万吨。

然而，在海拔如此高的地方建设风电

场并非易事。作为风机基础关键化学建材

的风机专用灌浆材料，不仅要求施工简便

容易，而且必须具有超强的性能指标和超

高的质量稳定性。这样才能够确保基础，

在高海拔、强紫外线、低温覆冰环境等严

苛的自然环境下，承载风机长期稳定运行。

为此，萨迦风电场项目选用了精密灌

浆材料 SikaGrout®-3200 CN。其具备优异的

早期强度发展和最终强度，可达国标 II 类

的优秀流动性，通过 150 次冻融循环检测，

并且获得了抗疲劳测试认证。

SikaGrout®-3200 CN 还具备了优异的可

施工性能。材料现场按比例加水，经机械

搅拌后，就能够得到流动度和流平性能俱

佳的浆体，可以通过设备泵送进行灌注施

工。这既能提高施工效率，又能减少高原

缺氧条件下的体力劳动。

Sika grouting material for wind power

has been successfully put into operation

in several ultra-high-altitude wind farms

on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Sika is

working with China's wind farm builders

to help China's wind power projects scale

the \"roof of the world\".

The Sagya Wind Farm stands at 5,193

meters above sea level and is located in

the plateau mountains of Sagya County,

part of Shigatse City district in the Tibet

Autonomous Region. It lies just over 140

kilometers from Mount Qomolangma,

part of the world’s “rooftop”, and is

currently the world’s highest wind farm

under construction.

Relying on high-quality wind resources at

ultra-high latitudes, a wind turbine here

can generate about 3 kWh of electricity

with one turn of its blades under normal

operating conditions, which translates

to about 5,000 kWh of electricity per

hour. After the project is completed, the

Sagya Wind Farm is expected to provide

locals with green and clean electricity. It

will generate about 600 million kWh of

electricity per year, equivalent to 164,200

tons of standard coal. By comparison,

wind energy allows sulfur dioxide and

carbon dioxide emissions to be reduced

by about 450,000 tons.

However, it is not easy to build wind

farms at such high altitudes. The grout

specifically formulated for wind turbine

applications, as a key chemical material

for the construction of wind turbine

foundations, must be simple and easy to

construct while also possessing superior

material properties and ultra-high quality and stability, in order to secure the

wind turbines’ long-term operation in

such a harsh natural environment, which

includes high altitude, intense UV radiation, and extreme low temperatures.

SikaGrout®-3200 CN was used for the

precision grouting of wind turbine tower

bases in the Sagya Wind Farm Project,

thanks to its fast early strength development, high final strength, and good

flow characteristics that satisfy Class II

national standards. The grout was also

fatigue tested and certified after 150

freeze-thaw cycles.

SikaGrout®-3200 CN also offers excellent workability. By adding water to the

grout material proportionally on site

and mechanically stirring it, slurry with

good flow and leveling properties can be

produced and then pumped for pouring

construction. This not only improves

construction efficiency, but also reduces

the physical labor required under low-oxygen conditions at high altitude.

As a global leader in chemical building

provide materials support for the development of its concrete tower technology.

In 2017, Sika China participated in China’s

first wind power project fully utilizing concrete towers – the Xinjiang Hami Jingxia

120m concrete tower project by Jinke

New Energy Co., Ltd.. In this project, Sika

provided systematic solutions including

grouts for foundations, grouts for vertical

joints, chemical templates, adhesives for

transverse joints, grouts for prestressed

ducts, and repair mortars for components.

修缮论坛中，西卡中国防水团队技术服务

主管徐伟先生分享了西卡在城市建筑防水

有建筑，并且以每年 10 亿平米的速度增加，

有接近 30% 的建筑超过 20 年。目前，整

个新建市场处于下行周期，由此带来的产

On May 28, 2024, the 5th Waterproof

Industry Conference, hosted by the China National Building Waterproof Association, was opened in Nanjing. Themed

“Driving into a New Track and Injecting

New Impetus,” it included one main

forum and nine sub-forums, creating a

vibrant atmosphere with many industry

leaders in attendance.

As a global leader in the chemical industry, Sika participated in two sub-forums

to share its experience and contribute

to industry communication. During the

event, Mr. Ge Zhao, Head of PM&TS,

Roofing and Waterproofing of Sika China, was re-elected as Secretary General

of the Single-Ply Roof Technical Branch

and Vice President of the Green Roof

Technical Branch. Additionally, Mr. Ma

Shouwang, Deputy Director of Sika China’s Construction Strategy Department,

was re-elected as Vice President of the

Waterproof Coating Technical Branch.

At the First Forum on Urban Renovation

and Building Repair, Mr. Xu Wei, Technical Service Supervisor, Waterproofing

of Sika China, shared Sika’s solutions for

the waterproofing and refurbishment of

urban buildings. China currently has 80

billion m2

of existing buildings, with 1 billion m2

added annually, and nearly 30%

of these buildings are over 20 years old.

At present, the whole new build market

is entering a downward cycle, which

brings quality risks and opportunities

to the repair service market. Sika offers

gains widespread support and the development of clean energy accelerates,

installing distributed photovoltaic panels on roofs has become an effective

measure for reducing carbon emissions

in the construction industry. Sika’s solar

roofing system is the only Factory Mutual (FM) Approved system that allows

On April 26, 2024, the 2024 Suzhou Global Investment Promotion Conference

kicked off under the theme \"Invest in Suzhou for a Win-Win Future,\" drawing

together Fortune Global 500 companies in Suzhou. A total of 367 projects, with a

combined investment of 371.95 billion yuan, were signed at the conference. These

projects are primarily focused on new quality productive forces in fields such as new

energy, high-end equipment, next-generation information technology, advanced

materials, biopharmaceuticals, and big health, and will be launched in Suzhou.

The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is a global organization that helps

companies set ambitious emissions reduction targets aligned with the latest

between the CDP Global Environmental Information Research Center (CDP),

the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and

Sika has reached a new milestone in

its journey toward sustainability, as its

net-zero emission target has been validated by SBTi. This achievement marks

a significant step in Sika’s low-carbon

transition in the construction, automotive, and industrial sectors. This achievement underscores Sika’s ongoing commitment to environmental protection

and highlights its active contribution as

a member of the “Business Ambition for

1.5°C” campaign, working toward a sustainable future for the planet.

Sika is committed to achieving net-zero

emissions by 2050 across its entire value

chain. To this end, Sika has established

clear short-term and long-term targets.

That is, by 2032, Sika aims to reduce its

Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50.4%

compared to the 2022 baseline. These

include indirect emissions from self-generated and purchased electricity. Additionally, Sika is dedicated to a 30%

reduction in Scope 3 emissions, which

includes emissions from upstream and

downstream supply chains, product use,

and disposal. The combined emissions

reduction target for scopes 1, 2, and 3 is

30.4% by 2032 and 90% by 2050. Sika

will report annually on its progress towards meeting these targets to ensure

transparency.

西卡之爱员工，则为之计深远——始于 2013 年的年轻经理人计划是为帮助优

秀人才进一步学习、发展而设计的一个开放、多元化的学习和成长平台，旨

在帮助他们提升战略、财务、运营、产品技术、领导力等各方面的知识和能力，

从而更从容地去迎接未来的挑战。

Sika has long prioritized putting its employees first. The Young Professional

Development Program, which began in 2013, is an open and diversified learning

and growth platform designed to help talented individuals further their learning

and development, with the aim of helping enhance learner capabilities regarding

strategy, finance, operations, product technology and leadership. This allows

employees to navigate the challenges of the future with greater ease.

This year marks the sixth young professional development program. During

stage one of the program in the fall,

young professionals first met in Suzhou,

when the city’s steps were strewn with

withered leaves at dusk. Stage two took

place in Guangzhou in early summer. In

April 2024, they met again on a sunny

day in spring, this time again in the

famous gardens of Suzhou, as famous

flowers were in full bloom. Here, they

started a weeklong learning journey (the

third stage) that concluded the program.

On the first day, Ms. Hester Lu, Vice

President and Head of HR of Sika China, delivered a welcome speech for this

reunion on behalf of Sika China. She

expounded the firm convictions and continued commitment of Sika Group and

Sika China concerning talent development, and emphasized the importance

of young people to the future development of Sika China. Then, internal and

external professionals held thematic

training sessions covering a wide range

of topics, such as change leadership,

performance management, financial

management, business, products, technology, and sustainable development.

T he classr o om lear ning w as t hus

brought to a close, leaving these young

professionals with a solid foundation for

the next challenge, well versed in terms

of business and support departments,

leadership promotion and case studies.

This stage and the overall program

concluded with a graduation ceremony, which Mr. Leo Zhang, President of

Sika China, attended along with several of Sika China’s executives. This

close contact with the company’s top

management emphasized to learners

that the company’s focus on personnel

development is not just a slogan, but

an immersive part of work practices at

Sika, indicative of the company’s values

of talent development. Later, young professionals organized a graduation party

event, which focused on the theme of

leadership stories and featured presentations made to executives on what

they had learned in the past year. The

executives also took this opportunity to

share their experience and feelings and

answer questions.

There is an old Chinese saying which

translates as “Just keep walking, and a

thousand miles is nothing to fear.” The

end of the graduation party marked the

successful conclusion of the Young Professional Development Program, which

has spanned a year and a half. The end

of every chapter holds the promise of

a new beginning; and the person who

moves slowest is not he who walks

slowly, but he who hesitates in his direction. Together, and with persistence,

this is the way to achieve great things.

六届班组。在第一阶段，他们初识于满阶

红叶暮的姑苏秋色中；在广州绿槐高柳的

初夏中，他们圆满完成了第二阶段学习。

2024 年 4 月，年轻经理人们又相约在姑苏

期一周的第三阶段旅程，为本届项目撰写

出完美终章。

首日，西卡中国副总裁、人力资源负

责人陆凯虹女士代表西卡中国欢迎大家的

再次聚首，她阐述了西卡集团和西卡中国

对于人才发展的坚定信念和持续投入，强

调了年轻力量在西卡中国未来发展中的重

要地位，随后，外部专业人士和内部专家，

为大家依次带来了涵盖多个领域的专题培

训——涉及变革领导力、绩效管理、财务

管理、业务、产品、技术、可持续发展等

重要议题。

至此，所有课堂学习的内容暂告一段

落，我们为所有年轻经理人从业务和支持

部门、领导力提升、案例研究各方面全面

进行了“武装”，为他们迎接下一步的挑战，

打下了坚实的基础。

作为此阶段也是本届项目的最高潮，

毕业汇报环节精彩纷呈。西卡中国总裁张

烨炯先生携西卡中国管理层亲临现场。与

公司最高管理者的“亲密”接触，让每一

位同学真真切切的体会到公司对于人员发

展的重视不仅仅是作为一句口号描述在公

司战略中，而是全情投入到每一个环节中，

身体力行的践行西卡发展人才的价值观！

随后，年轻经理人们通过领导力故事毕业

汇演向公司管理层展示他们在过去一年多

的学习历程的收获；公司管理层也借此机

会与大家交流经验、分享感受、答疑解惑。

4th Sika Day officially commenced. Mr.

Leo Zhang, President of Sika China; Mr.

Thomas Robert, APAC Regional Head

of Automotive & Industry at Sika; Ms.

Hester Lu, VP and Head of HR of Sika

China; and Ms. Grace Hu, VP and Head of

Operations of Sika China, each delivered

speeches.

SFIA’S 2024 ELECTION REVEALED

2024 年度理事会选举完成

In April 2024, the second meeting of the

9th Member Congress of the Shanghai

Foreign Investment Association (SFIA)

and the third meeting of the 9th Council were successfully held. During the

event, Mr. Leo Zhang, President of Sika

China, was elected as SFIA’s Rotating

Vice Chairman for the year 2024. That is

not only a recognition of Mr. Leo Zhang’s

personal leadership and influence in

business circles but also an acknowledgment of Sika China’s contributions

to promoting Sino-foreign economic

exchanges and cooperation.

Mr. Leo Zhang stated: “In the future,

I will leverage my abilities to drive the

joint development of Sika China and

SFIA, making greater contributions to

achieving the ‘dual-carbon’ goals and

sustainable development. I also look

forward to strengthening communication with the government via the SFIA

platform, creating a more favorable

environment for the development of

foreign-funded enterprises in Shanghai,

and promoting the city as a hot spot for

global investment and an innovation

highland.”

Under the leadership of Mr. Leo Zhang,

Sika China has steadfastly advanced

its localization strategy, fully tapping

into the potential of the Chinese market

and achieving remarkable results. The

On June 21, 2024, Shanghai Construction

Decoration Engineering Group Co., Ltd.

(SCDEC) and Sika China, two leading enterprises in the fields of construction and

decoration, successfully held a high-level

meeting and technical seminar.

In his speech, Mr. Li Jia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SCDEC, stated: “The creation of

low-carbon environments and spaces is

one of the key issues in SCDEC’s future

business development. Sika’s sustainability philosophy can significantly support and empower this goal.

As a leader in the construction sector,

Sika aligns closely with SCDEC’s definition

and criteria for partners. We look forward

to more in-depth cooperation and mutual

fusion between SCDEC and Sika.” Mr. Leo

Zhang, President of Sika China, added:

Industry experts from both sides visited

the mockup mobile exhibition stand jointly developed by SCDEC and Sika, and engaged in technical exchanges and discussions. Experts from Sika China’s business

teams delivered impressive speeches and

presentations covering various aspects of

building materials, involving topics such

as All-round Application of Top-Performing Flooring in Buildings, Revolution

in Waterproofing of Buildings: Sika’s

High-Performance Solutions, Building

Value Enhancement: Aesthetics and

Protection of Sika’s Interior and Exterior

Wall Coatings, System Solutions for

Extending Building Lifespan, and Sika’s

Diversified Sealing and Bonding Applications and Solutions, etc. The meeting

was full of highlights and enjoyed the

warm atmosphere.

The successful conclusion of this seminar

marks a significant step forward in the cooperation between SCDEC and Sika. Both

sides look forward to

undertaking more fruitful cooperation projects

in the future, pushing

the construction industr y toward progress

and prosperity.

On May 25, 2024, the Swiss Ball 2024

Golden Shanghai, themed “Golden

Shanghai” and organized by the Swiss

Chamber of Commerce (SwissCham),

was held at the Pudong Shangri-La

Hotel, Shanghai. The event, steeped in

nostalgia, celebrated the remarkable

achievements of Swiss companies

that made a significant impact in the

Chinese market during the late 90s

and early 2,000s.

The ball attracted numerous distinguished guests, including Mr. Laurent Wehrli, President of the Foreign

Affairs Committee of the National

Council of the Federal Assembly of

Switzerland, H.E. Jürg Burri, Swiss Ambassador to China, and Mr. Lucas Rondez, Chairman of SwissCham China. In

their speeches, they extended a warm

welcome to all the elegantly dressed

attendees and expressed gratitude

to Sika and other Swiss companies

and organizations for their significant

contributions to strengthening China-Switzerland relations.

As the gold sponsor of this event, Mr.

Leo Zhang, President of Sika China,

led a team and special guests of Sika

China to attend the ball. They had a

cordial exchange with Ambassador

Jürg Burri, embarking together on this

nostalgic journey back to the 90s with

On June 28, Sika Automotive & Industry

Team held an Innovation Technology Day

with Nissan, showcasing the latest solutions in automotive.

The event featured a variety of innovative

automotive solutions, including designs

for new energy vehicle floors and sills,

expandable structural adhesives, body

structure reinforcements, CURING BY

DESIGN, lightweight bonding solutions,

and POWERPLEX technology. These

solutions cover applications in assembly

plants, welding shops, interior and exterior products, acoustic systems, structural

reinforcements, and E-mobility.

During the event, the Sika team illustrated bonding solutions for different

materials and discussed with Nissan

engineers how high-performance adhesives can address the challenges of

safety, cost, and performance stability

in next-generation CTP/CTC battery

structure designs. They also provided insights into innovative developments in

adhesives for smart cockpits, electronic

control modules, autonomous driving

components, and the technical specifications and application challenges of

low-temperature fast-curing adhesives.

This event was of great significance for

both Nissan and Sika, we exchanged

insights about industry trends and development directions of products and

technology, reaching a consensus on

advancing automotive safety and performance improvement.

6 月 28 日，西卡汽车 & 工业团队在广州东风日产乘用

车技术中心举办了主题为“MOVING INDUSTRIES FORWARD”

的创新技术日活动，展示了在汽车胶粘剂领域的最新成果。

技术日展示了多种创新的汽车胶粘剂解决方案，包括新

能源汽车地板和门槛结构设计、膨胀结构胶、车身结构增强

件、CURING BY DESIGN、轻量化粘接解决方案及 POWERPLEX

技术等。展示涵盖总装车间、焊装车间、内外饰产品、声学

系统、结构增强和新能源汽车电池等领域。

活动期间，西卡团队解析了不同材料的粘接方案，并与

日产工程师探讨如何以高性能胶粘剂应对下一代 CTP/CTC 电

池结构设计中的安全性、成本和性能稳定性挑战，并解答了

胶粘剂在智能座舱、电控模块、自动驾驶功能组件中的创新

开发及低温快速固化胶粘剂的技术指标和应用难点。

本次活动对于日产和西卡意义深远，双方交流了行业动

态及未来产品和技术研发方向，并就推进汽车安全及性能升

级达成一致。
