Be prepared to stop the smoke and fire entering the room.

Stay low to the floor.

Tie wet cloth over nose and mouth for easier breathing.

Fill bath with water. You may need it to dampen down the room.

Open the window slightly if there is no smoke outside. Break the window only if

necessary.

Wear the gas mask.

Signal for help by using the telephone, waving sheet, flashing light ect.

Seal the room against smoke entering from outside.

Stuff wet towels, sheets, etc., in cracks around the door.

Turn off air conditioner and fans, or seal up vents

Throw water onto hot surfaces, e.g. walls, doors.

Remove curtains, wet the window if fire is right outside.

stay in well lit areas, and use the main entrance .

Take a few moments and locate the nearest exit that may be used in the event of an

emergency.

If you see any suspicious activity, notify the hotel operator or a staff member.
