Description
The head proportion of the sculpture Encounter of Happy Excursion is relatively
large compared with other parts to make it look younger, which creates an obvious
contrast on forms with the waved adze-eye hammer. The beam is relatively
depressed and abrupt in the space, while the dynamic motion of the young person
is an attempt to break up the depressed atmosphere. The purpose of the layout is to
apply humorous attitude to activate the atmosphere of the space.

上海市浦东世纪大都会 2-3 地块项目，建设单位为上海
陆家嘴金融贸易区联合发展有限公司，由上海陆家嘴集
团和百联集团共同斥资数十亿元人民币进行打造。
位于浦东新区的 2-3 地块项目，地处陆家嘴金融贸易区
核心区域。本项目基地面积 37898 平方米，地上部分建
筑面积 162339 平方米，地下部分建筑面积 116285 平
方米，由 4 幢连为一体的塔楼和位于张杨路一侧的商业
裙房构成，其中最高的 3 号楼为 15 层，高度为 83 米；
商业裙房（5 号楼）部分为 5 层，高度为 28 米（局部为
32 米）。该项目为周边及入驻的国内外企业提供商业、
文化、娱乐、办公等多功能、高品位的现代服务配套，
是陆家嘴金融城的又一功能地标，并进一步完善陆家嘴
功能贸易区的金融生态环境，提升其综合服务功能。
Shanghai Pudong Century Metropolis 2-3 Plot Project is
constructed by Shanghai Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone
United Development Co., Ltd., which is jointly invested by
Shanghai Lujiazui Group and Shanghai Bailian Group with
billions of RMB.
The 2-3 Plot Project in Pudong New Area is located in the
core area of Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone. It covers an area
of 37,898m2, the building area of the above-ground part is
162,339 m2, and that of the underground part is 116,285
m2. It consists of 4 connected towers and a commercial
podium located on one side of Zhangyang Road. The tallest
building, Building 3, has 15 floors and is 83 meters high. The
commercial podium (Building 5) has 5 floors and a height of
28 meters (partially 32 meters). The project provides multifunctional and high-quality modern services such as business,
culture, entertainment, and office for the surrounding and
settled domestic and foreign enterprises, which is another
functional landmark of Lujiazui Financial City. It further
improves the financial ecological environment of the Lujiazui
Finance & Trade Zone and enhances the comprehensive
service functions.

结合地铁设置的世纪大都会的地下部分无疑是 2-3 地块
项目最大的设计特色，也是工程的重头戏，在商业面积中，
有很大一半都是“转战地下”而得。庞大的地下商圈是“世
纪大都会”2-3 地块项目的一大亮点。“世纪大都会”2-3
地块项目建造了 4 层地下商业设施和停车库，其中地下
一、二层为商场建筑，三至四层为停车场，能同时容纳
约 1036 辆机动车停车，是上海内环以内最大规模的地下
商圈。“世纪大都会”2-3 地块项目的地面建筑则由四栋
连体塔楼组合形成一张“扇面”，像是立起来放置的几本
书籍。尽管中心城区寸土寸金，但与市区许多“钢筋水泥
森林”建筑不同的是，“世纪大都会”的景观被当作花园
来设计。整个项目的绿化率接近 20％，消费者在购物的
同时感觉是在花园漫步。项目在绿化植被选择上也以山
茶花为主题，配上稀有的乔木树种，起到建筑与景观互
为衬托的效果。
The underground part of the Century Metropolis combined
with the metro setting is undoubtedly the major design
feature of its 2-3 Plot Project, which is also the most important
part of the project. Since much of its commercial acreage is
underground, so the huge underground commercial district
is a highlight of the project. The \"Century Metropolis\" 2-3
Plot Project has built 4 floors of underground commercial
facilities and parking lots, of which the first and second floors
are shopping malls, and the third to fourth floors are parking
lots, which can simultaneously accommodate about 1,036
motor vehicles. It becomes the largest underground business
district within the inner ring of Shanghai. The project’s ground
building is composed of four conjoined towers to form a \"fan
surface\", looking like several books placed upright. Although
the land is extremely expensive in the central urban area in
Shanghai, unlike many buildings which look like \"reinforced
concrete forest\" in the downtown area, the landscape of
\"Century Metropolis\" is designed as a garden, with the
greening rate close to 20%, where consumers will feel like
strolling in the garden while shopping. Moreover, the project
is themed on camellia in the selection of vegetation, coupled
with rare arbor species, forming a complement between the
building and the landscape.

安托万·蓬塞（生于 1928 年）是欧洲战后雕塑界备受瞩目的代
表人物。他在瑞士长大，从小就被艺术所包围。他的父亲是一位

Antoine Poncet (born 1928) was a highly regarded exponent
of post-war sculpture in Europe. Growing up in Switzerland,
Poncet was surrounded by artists, his father was a painter and
his grandfather was the famous Nabis artist Maurice Denis.
His theories made huge contribution to the Cubism, Fauvism,
and abstraction art.
At the age of fourteen he went to study under the sculptor
Germaine Richier in Zurich. From 1942-1945 he attended
the École des Beaux Arts in Lausanne, after which he moved
to Paris where he took a studio and enrolled at the Académie
de la Grande Chaumière. It was at this time that he turned
to abstraction. The exploration of form is always his most
concerned problem; \"I have to create a sculpture that can
survive with its balanced volume, its movement and full
space.\"
Poncet was highly influenced by the works of Brancusi and
Jean Arp, especially their attention on shapes, forms and
volumes. The bronze products created by Poncert seem to be
under the forming process in the eye of audiences, creating a
kind of dynamic and instant feeling. The surface texture has
true significance in his works; the surface of his sculpture are
polished to enhance the effect of light rays.
From 1952 Poncet exhibited regularly at the major salons
such as the Salon de la Jeune Sculpture, the Salon des Réalités
Nouvelles; and in 1953 a group show at the Musée National
d’Art Moderne in Paris. In 1954 the art museum in Winterthur
held a solo exhibition of his work. The following year he was
awarded the Swiss Prize for Sculpture. In 1956 he participated
in an international sculpture exhibition at the Musée Rodin
in Paris, and was selected to represent Switzerland at the
Venice Biennale. He was also awarded the Henry Moore Prize
in Japan. The artist’s work is now represented in numerous
museums worldwide, including the Musée National d’Art
Moderne, Paris; Fondation Régional d’Art Contemporain,
Paris; Galeria d’Arte Moderna, Milan; Museum of Modern Art,
New York; Hirshborn Museum, Washington DC; Museum
of Fine Art, Minneapolis; Museum of Fine Art, Toronto; Art
Institute of Chicago; Open Air Museum, Hakone, Japan.

The concept of the sculpture is a Mobius Strip , which is a piece of paper twisted
180° and then bonded at both ends, showing its magical fantasy. We introduce
this magical shape discovered by Mobius into the creation of sculpture to develop
the artistic conception of unlimited continuity and extension.
