OVERVIEW
In March 2013 China's State Council established the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone(ZAEZ) as a national strategy to create the leading economic and logistics growth pole in the Central China region.Afurtherobjectivewastofosterthe globalintegration,industrialupgrading,and overall business prosperity of China's third-largest Province, Henan,(population 100 million) and its capital city,Zhengzhou (population 13million).A specific mandate of the State Council was that the ZAEZ accomplish these objectives by developing the first comprehensively planned, purposelybuilt aerotropolisin China.
An aerotropolis may be defined as a new urban form whose infrastructure,land use, and economy are centered on an international airport. Leveraging proximity to the airport and connecting surfacetransportation infrastructure,aerotropolis firms gaineconomies of speed,agility,and accessibilitytheirsuppliersandcustomersocallynationally,and globally,making themmore operationallyefficientandprofitable.
To meet its aerotropolis development mandate,the Administrative Committee of the ZAEZ partnered with the Henan Airport Group and other pertinent Chinese government entities to generate a business-optimizing integration of airlines, airport, and enterprises in its 415k m^{2} airport economy zone（whichwas expanded to 747k m^{2} in 2022).ZAEZ's appeal to these enterprises and their required labor is enhanced by its superb multimodal surface transportation infrastructure along with new construction of quality residential and urban nodes.
So exceptionalwasthe growthof theZonesconnectivity,businessinvestment,industrialouut, GDP,and aviation-based exports that in May 2019 the People's Daily crowned the ZAEz“China's Aerotropolis."

HSR EXPRESS
It is the first HsR station that is designed with both passenger and specialized cargo facilities. A trial program of HsR express has been started in January 2024 between ZAEZ and the southwest Chongqing City. Another strategicplan is seamlessconnectivitybetween the airport cargo terminal and the Air-HsR Transfer Center at the HsR Station,to efficiently link international and domestic circulations.

Aninternationalinlandportspanningoveranareaof 50k m^{2} iscurrentlybeingconstructedwhich will be one of the largest in China upon completion.It will bethe only hub of theChina-Europe freight train in the central and eastern regions.
Theinlandportisdesignedwithtwostationsheweststationlocatednexothevehicledistrict intended for vehicle distribution, while the east station for the China-Europe freight train.
