ecently, the newspaper club \"The Crane\" was established. Teacher James Riggs organized the club
members who designed the new school newspaper. Here, they recorded all manner of things happening on

近日,愛莎学生校报社团“The Crane”成立,James Riggs老师组织社团成员们合作完成了第一次
校报创意设计,在这里他们用文字和照片记录发生在校园内的大小事,表达自己所思所想和观察见闻,

n Oct 23 afternoon, Wenhua MYP students
attended the first practical training out of school.
Organized by Changjiang Daily, students went to
Yuehu Park with volunteers from another school to
learn how to make a sachet, a traditional accessory
listed as China’s national intangible cultural heritage.
Instructed by Ms. Chen Jin, students learned the
history of sachets, saw sachets of different functions
and shapes, and each of them made a fragrant sachet.
10月23日下午,文华MYP 同学们参加了由《长
江日报》组织的第一次校外培训。同学们和其他
学校的志愿者们一起在月湖公园进行了香包手作
课。香包工艺的非物质文化遗产传承人金辰老师
讲解了香包的历史,并展示了不同功能和造型的
实物。在金老师的指导下,每位同学都自己动手
制作了一枚香包。

he students learned to sew cloth pieces together to
make the shape of lotus fruit and fill it with dried
fragrant wetland plants. It was the first time for all of
them to sew and sometimes they had to redo a step
multiple times. Whenever they got stuck, they turned to
teachers or helped each other, and all managed to
complete their work with great patience and
concentration.
同学们亲手缝制了一枚莲蓬造型的香包,并
加入晒干的湿地芳香植物作为香料。所有人
都是第一次做针线活,因而有些步骤甚至需
要多次重做才能做对。但每个人都表现出了
巨大的耐心和专注,在遇到问题时不断求助
老师和同学,在互帮互助中完成了每个人的
作品。

his Wednesday, Wenhua PYP held an online Tencent conference to organize a parent
class on positive emotions. During the epidemic, children are taking online classes at
home. Some parents need to accompany them at home, and some parents are still busy
with work, but how can we overcome the current difficulties and maintain a positive
mood? Come and hear Ms. Carmen Wu give you some advice.
本周三,文华PYP在线上举办了关于正向情绪的家长课堂。疫情之下,孩子们都
在家里上线上课堂,有的家长需要居家陪伴,有的家长还有忙碌的工作,那么我
们如何去克服当前的困难,保持积极的情绪呢?来听听Carmen老师给你一些可

enhua PYP teachers met online on Wednesday
afternoon to discuss a themed activity that Students
could complete next week. They decided that the
students will design and make a crazy hat. Teachers
are hoping that through this enrichment activity the
children will have fun finding materials and designing
the hat themselves.
周三下午,文华PYP组织了教师研讨会,计划于
下周为学生们举办“疯狂帽子”主题活动。希望
能够以此来丰富孩子们的活动课程,让孩子们自
主去寻找材料,在动手过程中体验设计的乐趣。

n the I.S G3 UOI class, we started our new
transdisciplinary theme on “How the World
Works.” For this unit, students are investigating
forces and looking at how forces can be used to
create things and solve problems.
We also looked at an experiment called the “Egg
Drop”, where they must keep an egg safe from
the force of gravity. The students have shown a
lot of creativity in the past week, as they had to
find materials and design their structures.
他们还研究了一个名为“鸡蛋降落伞”的实验,他们必须在该实验中保护鸡蛋免受重力影响。 在过去

n CNC Math class, Eric Li designed a teaching
link that combines teaching with practice. After
explaining the examples, he used a countdown
device to let students complete the classroom
exercises within the time range. Then Eric checked
the answers. This method helped the students
understand new knowledge when being taught
online.
在爱莎文华国内方向的数学课上,李刘畅老
师设计了讲练结合的教学环节,讲解例题后
用倒计时装置让学生在时间范围内完成课堂
练习,核对答案后再由老师进行讲解,此方
法既能有效把握课堂时间安排,又能检验线
上教学学生对新知识的掌握情况。

n the Chinese writing class, Hongyue Zhou first
shared the excellent notes and compositions of the
last class with the students. Leo Huang and Zoey
Gao read their compositions entitled \"Scenery in
My Heart\" respectively. And then Mr. Zhou
invited other students to share their feelings about
their compositions. After a full discussion with the
students, he made a detailed comment on the
advantages and disadvantages of the two
compositions.
CNC语文写作课上,周红跃老师先和同学们分
享了上节课的优秀笔记和作文。黄泽堃同学和
郜奕萱同学分别朗读了他们题为《留在心底的
风景》的作文,读完后,周老师先请其他同学
对他们的作文分享自己的感悟,和同学们充分
讨论后,再对两篇作文的优缺点进行了详细的
点评。

o help students improve their learning of online
courses and communicate with teachers more
effectively, AP Center has formulated an online
office schedule for teachers after class every
afternoon. Tencent Meeting Room from 16:30-
18:00 which will have 3 separate rooms:
为帮助同学们提高网课的学习质量,更有效
的与老师们沟通交流,AP课程中心制定了每
天下午课后的老师在线答疑时间值班表。腾
讯会议中16:30-18:00,将设置有3个独立
的房间:
I. Main Hall for students to come to discuss their
homework questions with a teacher.
II. Study Hall for students to quietly work by
themselves but still have a way to reach a
teacher if they have questions. Teachers can
check in this room to check on their progress
periodically.
III. Collaboration Room: this will be a
collaboration where students can talk freely and
openly about their assignments and even their
school life.

n preparation for the American Mathematics
Competitions in mid-November, the AP Center
has arranged two training sessions in the
afternoon every week for three consecutive
weeks. To be more efficient, the Teacher, Mr.
Adam Wang will hand out the exercises in
advance for the students to complete after class.
In the class, the teacher will focus on
explaining the ideas and methods of solving the
questions to the students.
为预备11月中旬的美国数学测评(AMC)竞赛,
AP中心网课期间连续3周每周下午安排了2次竞赛
培训时间。为提高效率,王智屹老师会将真题提
前下发,同学们课后完成,培训课上老师再给参
赛学生重点讲解解题思路和方法。
